Yemi Eberechi Alade populaly known as (Yemi Alade) is a Nigeria Afro pop singer and songwriter born on 13th march 1989 in Abia State, Eastern part of Nigeria. Yemi Alade is the fifth out of seven children in her family, her father James Alade is of Yoruba origin while her mother Helen Uzoma is an Igbo, that’s why she is mostly referred as “Yoruba-Igbo girl”. She attended St Saviour British Primary school, and then went to Victory Grammar school Lagos; she obtained a bachelor degree in Geography at the University of Lagos.
Yemi Alade made her music debut in all-girl group called Noty Spices in 2005, but stepped into the spotlight when she won The Peak Talent show in 2009. The star released her first single titled “Fimisile” under Jus’ Kiddin label. She signed onto the music label, Effyzzie Music Group in 2012, where she released her single “Ghen Ghen Love”. She broke record with her Hit single “Johnny”produced by Selebobo in 2013.
The song became an international hit dominating music chat in Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Liberia and The United Kingdom among others. The song was listed as one of the best songs of 2013 despite the fact that it was released towards the end of the year.
Alade has been a top star since her brake through and performed around the world shearing stage with Mary J Blige, Shina Peter, M.I and many more.
On October 2014, she released her debut album, “King of Queens” which followed by the second album titled “Mama Africa” which was released in March 2016. The superstar is a brand ambassador for digital ticket Company Nairabox.
On December 2016 the superstar bagged in a multi-million Naira Endorsement deal with international Cosmetic Company NP Gunadour
