When did you start deejaying?
My journey to deejaying is so epic because i started when I was in secondary school, I was in JSS 3 to be precise. When I started deejaying, it was very challenging, because a lot of people didn’t give me the chance or even encourage me, some of my friends said I wasn’t stylish enough and didn’t have the swag to be a Dj but that encouraged me the more, because I felt I had a point to prove, and so far it’s been an interesting journey, God has been faithful, he’s taken me to places i never thought i’ll go.
What made you want to be a deejay in the first place?
For me, what was on my mind was the passion and the fact that I had a point to prove to people that didn’t believe in me, so i put in all my energy and skills then I admired the likes of Dj Jimmy Jatt and Dj Humility, I just knew I could do it too.
Did you get support from your parents?
Yea, when I started, support came from my mum because my mum is kind of like my strong back bone. So at the time I started she had my back and gave me her full support, so I started buying my equipments gradually with my little savings. The first thing I bought was a small speaker (laughs) and today I always give a big shout out to my mum for her huge support and my big brother Olamide.
What’s is your relationship with the rapper Olamide?
Olamide is my blood brother, he’s my elder brother from the same parents, a lot of people don’t really know this. I remember when we were young, Olamide faced his music career and I faced my Dj career. We have been very close even till date. Being his younger brother is very different, when its business we deal with business and put the family relationship aside, and when it’s family time, its family time. We argue sometimes but don’t get me wrong o, I like the fact that Olamide’s my brother, I feel privileged and somehow people expect me to raise my shoulders or be arrogant, but am not like that.
