Shatta Wale

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., born October 17, 1984 is a Ghanaian-born producer and reggae-dancehall musician. He is known by his stage name Shatta Wale[1] (formerly Bandana), His best known song is "Dancehall King", which led to winning the Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Ghana Music Awards. He traveled to Jamaica to learn dancehall. Wale acted in the movies Never Say Never and in Shattered Lives.

He changed his name to "Bandana" after secondary school and released the track "Moko Ho (Bandana from Ghana)", featuring Tinny, in 2004. He released his first collection titled Bandana from Ghana. He at that point went into a melodic break until re-marking himself Shatta Wale. He released "Dancehall King" in 2013. He is the pioneer, (CEO) and author of the Shatta Movement (SM) or (SM4LYF).

Shatta picked up acknowledgment at the 2013 VGMAs. He wrote a song against the coordinators of the Ghana Music Awards titled "Me Need No Awards", asserting that the coordinators tricked him off the Dancehall Artiste of the Year. The media, bloggers and different intellectuals guarantee this prompted his leap forward and significance in the Ghanaian music industry.
